Graffiti Moon Book Launch

A HUGE thanks to all at The Sun Bookshop in Yarraville and to Pan Macmillan for throwing me such a fantastic book launch.

Here are some pics of the afternoon…

The lovely Gabrielle Wang who launched my book – and did a beautiful job. And there’s me next to her.

This is the fabulous cake my friend had made for the launch. Creative Cake Art did such a good job.

It was chocolate mud cake and I ate far too much.

I love this shot of Gabi.

And you can read here at Food for Silverfish blog a really lovely comment on Graffiti Moon.

It was a fab launch, if only I’d remembered to take a piece cake…

It was a great launch. It was a great cake. It was a great crowd. It IS a great book.

Art is important. Go hug an artist today. Um.. that’s a metaphorical hug – some of them are easily startled, but you get my drift, right?

Just read Graffiti Moon over the weekend (buying it was my treat for the MWF) and I absolutely loved it. There was such a sense of atmosphere and such beautiful writing. While I loved all of the characters I really loved Lucy’s parents and their commitment to art and their unconventional relationship. Seeing their story play out and then Lucy and Ed come together was so poignant because you could see their relationship in the same way. Also thought that the story of their first date was absolutely hysterical and loved how you revealed that in the book. Brilliant.
