Writing Workshops at the St Kilda Library

On a sunny day in the school holidays I had a lovely time working with some very talented writers, amongst them were Aditya and Sruti.

Here are some of their beautiful words.

Wild Rabbits

At the zoo crocodiles were near me.

I saw a white peacock.

Wild deers were running, eating and jumping.

What I remember the most was feeding the wild rabbits.

I fed them spinaches.

They were really soft and very cute.

This memory has stayed in my mind

because it is magical for me.

My Tryst with Death

“Look, there it is”, exclaimed Rithvik.

“Let’s go” was my response. The door of the swimming pool was soon standing right in front of us.

We all jumped in the crystal clear water excitedly. Splash, was the only sound we all heard. Our echoes followed. Soon we were jumping about making a racket in the small water infested room.

As Rithvik was jumping up and down in excitement, he didn’t realize that the deep end was advancing towards him. After a few minutes, my friend and I only saw his hair on top of the water. I went to his rescue, but he was too scared to think about me so he just pulled me down. Now my life was at risk!

Ultimately, Aravind, the heftiest of all of us, gave his assistance. As Rithvik was being dragged by him to the other end, I thanked God for leaving me with my life.
