In that nothing night

In that nothing night

The stars caught the bus

To the other side of town

To go to the pub

The moon followed

Like moons do

Because moons don’t think much for themselves

The owls went to an owl disco

And let go with some really crazy owl moves

That involved some serious head spinning

The snicking crickets went bowling

And the grass slept

The mice went off to the café around the corner that serves good cheese

The beetles got tuxedoed up and went to play cards

At the casino across town

So everything was very quiet

In that nothing night

And

For a while

There was just the sound of two

People talking

everyone has a secret inside, something sleeping like that yellow bird

Sometimes I can’t sleep I’m swimming in so many words

slowly, really slowly, I'm spinning song and dancing, rising voice beneath my skin
